Daniel Wade began studying the cello at the age of six at the Conservatoire de musique de Gatineau with Anne Contant, and the drums at nine years old with his father, NAC Orchestra percussionist Jonathan Wade. In 2015, he toured with the National Youth Orchestra of Canada as a member of their cello section. He has won many competitions, most recently first place at the national level of the 2016 Canadian Music Competition in the Strings “under 16” division. Daniel is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree in cello performance at the University of Ottawa, studying with Professor Paul Marleyn. He is also the drummer of the University of Ottawa Jazz Ensemble. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling and cross-country skiing in Gatineau Park.
