David Noël

David Noël is a red-haired actor–singer–translator fascinated by the effect art can have on people’s lives. At the age of 15, David died 89 times—specifically, in the role of Gavroche in Les Misérables at the Capitole de Québec. This first professional experience launched his acting career both on stage (in Peter Pan, Sweeney Todd and Private Lives) and in front of the camera (in 30 vies, Toi et moi, 19-2 and O’). In 2018, David decided to put his career on hold to refine his acting skills at the National Theatre School of Canada. While there, he was influenced by the ultra-inspiring Sylvie Moreau, Diane Pavlovic, Marie-Christine Lê-Huu and Gabrielle Lessard, as well as by all the movement courses and exchanges between programs and sections. He also received the Ada Slaight Prize, awarded annually to a graduating student who demonstrates leadership and empathy while working with colleagues in both official languages. It’s obvious: human relations are David’s thing. Since graduating from NTS, he has appeared in the film Le sang du pélican, directed by Denis Boivin, and on stage at the Segal Centre in the plays Pool No Water and Dracula: A Comedy of Terror. Fluently bilingual, David is eager to work in both English and French on projects where collaboration, connection and authenticity are at the forefront.
