John Doucet

John is an award-winning Ottawa-based designer and theatre creator. After working many years as an actor, he transitioned to (nearly) exclusively set design. John has worked with every professional theatre company in Ottawa and Gatineau. In a year of firsts, he has designed for Tarmac des Auteurs (Democratic Republic of Congo). He will work with Satellite Théâtre in Moncton (New Brunswick) and for La Fille du Laitier in Montreal (Quebec). John is also the head carpenter and frequent designer for the Theatre Department of the University of Ottawa and an associate artist for Theatre 4.669 and Théâtre Rouge Écarlate. John is a graduate of Studio 58 in Vancouver.
