Kimberly Durflinger was born and raised in sunny San Diego, California, and joined the Thunder Bay Symphony violin section in 2021. Additionally, Kimberly has substituted with several North American orchestras such as the San Diego Symphony, the Canadian Opera Company, I Musici Orchestre de Chambre de Montréal and the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony. She received her Master’s Degree from the Schulich School of Music at McGill University in 2018 under the tutelage of Andrew Wan and Alexander Read. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the Eastman School of Music in 2016. Kimberly is a pet parent to four chunky guinea pigs and a corgi puppy. Outside of classical music, she loves dancing Argentine tango and performing with her Toronto-based rock band Vaerisa.
