Lorenzo Guggenheim, an emerging conductor from Buenos Aires now based in Canada, is the Music Director of the Oakville Symphony and founder of the University of Toronto Campus Philharmonic Orchestra. He participated in international masterclasses, recently with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and Orchestre Symphonique de Quebec. Guggenheim was selected for the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra 2023 Conducting Showcase and was a fellow for Ludovic Morlot at the Seattle Symphony during his Master’s.
Known for innovative programming and promoting underrepresented composers, he conducted the first hearing of Florence Price’s Symphony No. 1 in Toronto. Guggenheim is pursuing a doctoral degree at UofT researching the music of Franz Schreker, banned and persecuted composer.
