This free exhibition holds up a mirror to Humanity, and we see Mother Earth staring back.
On display from September 7th-30th as part of the SPHERE festival

In Deep: Reflections on Grief and the Climate Crisis holds up a mirror to us, and we see Mother Earth staring back. Created in collaboration with the Canada Council Art Bank, fifteen artworks from across the country converse in an intergenerational dialogue about our relationship with Mother Earth. You are invited to explore how we continue to poison and pollute her, hear her cry in the howling winds of hurricanes, feel her tears flow and flood waterways, and bristle as her body burns from a fever that cannot be brought down. Simultaneously, we lament her and our futures, weighed down by the unknown storms brewing on the horizon. Although we may long for escapism, this exhibition urges you to take the plunge into the cold realities of historical Canadian events, a heartbroken generation, and rich, Indigenous storytelling. Like tectonic plates, these artworks converge, sending seismic waves through us and cleansing us of preconceptions. They hold the power to transform us, exposing us to our faults.
