Pop-Up Exhibit
November is Indigenous Disability Awareness Month. In recognition of this month, come and enjoy this free pop-up exhibit on the Canal Lobby Stage from November 11 to 18!
This exhibit introduces viewers to six Sign Languages used in Canada: American Sign Language, Langue des signes québécoise, Plains Indian Sign Language, Inuit Sign Language, Maritime Sign Language, and Oneida Sign Language. Maps, videos, and illustrations explain the histories and unique characteristics of these different languages.
About the Canadian Language Museum
The Canadian Language Museum was established in 2011 to promote an appreciation of all of the languages used in Canada and of their role in the development of this nation. The Museum is locaed on Glendon College campus of York Universit in Toronto. Our exhibits have been displayed from coast to coast to coast!
