August 19, 2021 – OTTAWA (Canada) – We are excited to welcome audiences and artists alike to all four NAC stages and fill them with live music! It’s been too long!
We’re bringing major international super stars to Southam Hall stage for blockbuster performances with artists like Feist’s intimate and innovative “Multitudes”; a commentary on the pandemic, and new music from Chilly Gonzales, Bahamas and Charlotte Cardin. Returning Canadian highlights include Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Digging Roots, Bruce Cockburn, the bombastic singalong of Choir! Choir! Choir!, and songwriting favourites Donovan Woods, Connie Kaldor & Garnet Rogers, William Prince, and Royal Wood.
Our exciting Sessions series which pairs pop musicians with the NAC Orchestra returns with the spectacular Grammy-winning jazz bassist Esperanza Spalding, and a holiday performance by pop sensation Carly Rae Jepsen.
The holidays are always a special time at the NAC and this year we’re looking forward to performances by Molly Johnson, Natalie MacMaster & Donnell Leahy Christmas, Matt Anderson, the Skydiggers and Jill Barber.
The beautiful acoustics in the Azrieli Studio will complement performances by BEYRIES, Louis-Jean Cormier, Les Hay Babies, Diane Tell, and Laila Biali. Also, we are excited to welcome for the first time the highly acclaimed clarinetist and composer Kinan Azmeh and his spectacular Kinan Azmeh City Band in the Babs Asper Theatre.
You can look forward to the Fridays at the Fourth series where you can discover emerging Canadian talent like Marie-Clo, Mclean, Leith Ross and Orchidae to name a few. The Fourth Stage will also welcome rising stars like Hannah Georgas, Steph Richards, and the Doxas Brothers. Slaight Music Spotlight also returns with Benjamin Deschamps, AHI and more!
“After the most challenging time for artists, musicians, crew, and the countless team members who support live concerts and tours I am thrilled to present a program of musicians and artists, in concert, on some of the most beautiful stages in the country here at the National Arts Centre. We can't wait to welcome the artists and the audience into the NAC this fall.” – Heather Gibson, Executive Producer, Popular Music & Variety

ABOUT THE NAC
The National Arts Centre raised its curtains for the first time in 1969. A bilingual, multi-disciplinary home for Canada’s most creative artists, the NAC strives to be artistically adventurous in each of its programming streams — the NAC Orchestra, Dance, English Theatre, French Theatre, Indigenous Theatre and NAC Presents. The Centre’s national role is reflected in its motto: “Canada is our Stage.” The NAC collaborates with artists and arts organizations across the country, acts as a catalyst for performance; invests in ambitious new works by artists and arts organizations nation-wide; and nurtures the next generation of audiences and artists from across Canada. Situated on the unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinabe nation, the NAC is accessible and welcoming to all, and offers a variety of free programming and events.
