Join us for a walking tour and visit two exhibitions featuring artworks from the Canada Council Art Bank collection.

The tour will begin at the Âjagemô art space (150 Elgin St.) to view “Madweyàshkà | Like a Wave,” curated by Olivia Kristoff (Cowessess First Nation) and will end at the National Arts Centre’s “In Deep: Reflections on Grief and the Climate Crisis” curated by Amy Abraham. Along the way, we will explore downtown Ottawa from an Indigenous perspective and learn about social, cultural, climate, and political issues through the lens of art, architecture, monument, and landscape.

The tour will be facilitated by Jaime Morse (Cree-Métis), owner of Indigenous Walks, who will explore the themes of the exhibitions with Pinock Smith, a Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg birch bark canoe builder and traditional artisan.

Please note, participants will walk approximately 500 metres between the two locations and should dress appropriately for the weather. The tour will be presented in English.
