At the invitation of Joe Jack and John, Papy Maurice Mbwiti created a series of videos in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement. Grouped under the title S’il fallait tout détruire (“If we had to destroy everything”), these short works investigate the theme of trauma.

Interpreted by Edon Descollines, Le serpent (“the snake”) is a short fable that invites us to consider the origin of the hatred, mistrust and prejudice that we harbour toward others in spite of ourselves.

Joe Jack and John creates and produces its works on the unceded Mohawk territory of Tiohtià:ke.
